Located near the small town of Clermont, Georgia in the facility formerly known as Wauka Mountain Elementary School, Wauka Mountain Multiple Intelligences Academy has a rich history. The current building opened in 1976-1977 when Clermont Elementary and Brookton Elementary were consolidated to create Wauka Mountain Elementary School under the leadership of Principal John Corley.
Principals Jerry Lee and Neil Yarrington continued the tradition of rigorous education for the students of Wauka Mountain.
In an effort to enrich the opportunities for our students, principal, Dr. Jo Dinnan, petitioned the Georgia Department of Education and the Hall County Board of Education to become a conversion charter school in 2010.
Principal, Pam Doig, continued the variety of programs established at the school and led the Wauka Mountain conversion to magnet school status in Fall 2015.
The facility is located on a beautiful campus of twenty acres in rural Hall County with an established greenhouse and outdoor amphitheater. The school is afforded tremendous community and family support with an active Parent Teacher Organization, Charter Board, and many parent volunteers.
It’s rich history and supportive parents and community make Wauka a special place for our students.
